Vivitar digital camera - computer not picking it up on USB?

E.B. asked:

Ok I am trying to install my Vivitar 4100 digital camera. I have the camera, new batteries, the USB pluggie, and the disc to install the photo software.

however when I plug in the USB cord and then plug in the camera and turn it on, nothing happens.

"devices with removeable storage" section or whatever has the floppy and CD/DVD but not my camera. then the "cameras and scanners" has a digital camera but it's not mine…

>.<

I am confused, there is no info regarding this in the manual.

i had this camera installed on a different computer, and when i'd turn my camera on after plugging it in, it would pop up on the screen, that my camera was detected. now it's not doing that.

What is the best camera lens for astrophotography?

Question by Eikwoa Riverblood:

I want to buy a camera kit and use it for astrophotography. My budget is around $1,000 Australian dollars for the actual camera body.

What are the best cameras, lenses and tripods you would recommend for astrophotography without using a telescope?

First I would like to start with planets, and then try nebulae.

And also, are there any specific brands that are best for this, and why?

Thanks for any advice :)

Stock Photography An Advertisers Choice

Photography is an effective medium of communication. A message can be conveyed practically to the masses through photographs instead of putting it down in writing or orally. A photograph grabs the attention of people very easily and creates an urge in them to explore the topic. This is the prime reason due to which photography is regarded as a major element in advertising campaigns, printing media and website designing.

To put in simple words stock photography means photos taken "on spec". Photographers capture the pictures of different kinds of objects, events, situations and people for selling them to clients. They do not hold any assignments but they take the pictures of things of common interest and subjects that they prefer to cover.

Photographer and videographer?

Question by Jule:

We recently went to a wedding event and saw a couple of really nice photographers and videographers. Obviously it costs a lot to hire both of them. The food will get digested and drinks will be gone…but the photos and videos last forever. So I would like to spend a decent amount of money on the photographer and videographer and less money on other stuff. Do people usually hire both? If you have to choose having either photographer or videographer, which would be better?

How Hard Can It Be To Take Our Own Wedding Pictures

Your wedding is fast approaching and as the anxiety grows in everyone associated with the big day, two big concerns weigh on everybody's mind. Those are…

(1) How can we reduce the stress of this big day?
(2) How can we cut the costs?

These two questions are in conflict with each other too because in order to reduce stress, you have to increase the work that someone has to do. Sometime during the preparation time frame, the idea will come up, why don't we let "John Jones" do our wedding pictures? John Jones may be someone's brother who is "really good at photography" or just a friend of the family. The appeal is that they will save you a pile of money and probably do just as good a job as the expensive photographers.

Digital Camera Works Like Jump Drive?

smartdudeforlife asked:

I connected my digital camera to my laptop today to upload some pictures, it's also a video recorder and a mp3 recorder. My jumo drive recently got busted so I thought to myself "why not try putting files on the camera?" So I did and it seems to accept my text files and such but if I were to try and move it to another computer would the camera corrupt the files or would me putting the files on the camera bad for the camera?

I realize some people use their IPODs as file managers, could the same work for a digital camera?

Quick question! If my camera says it accepts mp3s and records sound, coudl I upload mp3s on it and listen to them?
