The Flying Photographer?

Question by Russian T:

A photographer from a well-known national magazine was assigned to cover the recent Southern California fires. The magazine wanted to show some of the heroic work of the firefighters as they battled the blazes.

When the photographer arrived, he realized that the smoke was so thick that it would seriously impede or make it impossible for him to photograph anything from ground-level.

So he requested permission to rent a plane and take photos from the air. His request was approved, and arrangements were made. He was told to report to a nearby airport, where a single-engine plane would be waiting for him.

Does Picasa automatically reduce the dpi to 72dpi?

twentyten88 asked:

I have some pictures I take with a Nikon D70 in JPEG format. The preprocessed image is 300dpi. I used Picasa to adjust the contrast a bit and the result is 72dpi. Is this necessary to adjust the contrast or does Picasa just arbitrarily change it?

A question about mechanical pencil drawings. and please look at my work?

Louisa asked:

I came across a pencil artist who i was very impressed by on Deviantart.com who uses apparently just mechanical pencils, to create photorealistic drawings on quite a large scale, does anyone else use mechanical pencils to do pencil drawings? Id have thought they would be too precise and therefore too time consuming to complete large areas of tone with? How do they compare to using regular sketching pencils?
Also please have a look at some of my work and let me know what you think

Should i apologise.A photographer for a national magazine?

Question by conan:

was assigned to take pictures of a great forest fire?

He was advised that a small plane would be waiting to fly him over the fire.

The photographer arrived at the airstrip just an hour before sundown. Sure enough, a small Cessna airplane was waiting. He jumped in with his equipment and shouted, "Let's go!" The tense man sitting in the pilot's seat swung the plane into the wind and soon they were in the air, though flying erratically.
